For your home in Japan

Buying in Japan,
without guessing the small print.

A product can be easy to compare and still feel difficult to order in another language. Prepare the address, understand the final checkout screen, and check how the parcel will arrive.

Start with a domestic delivery address

This guide is for adults receiving an order in Japan. Put the complete address in the fields the retailer asks for, including the building name and room number. A postcode alone is not a full address. Keep the recipient's name and contact details consistent with what you use to receive deliveries.

Do not substitute a convenience store or post office address without checking that the retailer actually offers that receiving service. If you live in a shared home, plan who can receive the parcel and where order emails or payment notifications will appear.

Japanese checkout fields, in English

Japanese labelMeaningWhat to prepare
お名前 / 氏名Recipient nameThe name used for your delivery.
フリガナName reading in katakanaA katakana rendering of your name, if requested.
郵便番号PostcodeYour Japanese postcode.
都道府県PrefectureFor example, Tokyo or Osaka.
市区町村 / 番地City, ward, street and blockThe complete local address, not only the city.
建物名 / 部屋番号Building name / room numberYour apartment or building details.
電話番号Telephone numberThe contact number requested for delivery.
送料 / 手数料 / 合計Shipping / fees / totalThe complete amount before confirming.
注文内容を確認 / 注文を確定Review order / place orderReview the details before the final confirmation.

These are common Japanese labels, not a replica of any retailer's checkout. Follow the field descriptions and validation on the actual order page.

One retailer's receiving conditions: Purelovers Shop

Conditions below describe Purelovers Shop, not every Japanese store. Its published guide states that delivery is within Japan, with plain brown cardboard packaging. The sender is shown as PLS, and the waybill item-name field is left blank. These details describe the outside of the parcel, not every email, payment notification or document.

The shop names Sagawa as its carrier. Its guide says convenience-store and post-office hold services are not available through other carriers. A Sagawa service-centre pickup requires identification; check the retailer's exact addressing instructions before selecting it. See the retailer's Japanese buying guide for the current conditions.

Payment: check the method, then the total

The retailer lists Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express and Diners. A listed card brand does not establish whether an individual foreign-issued card will be accepted. Check your own payment result on the retailer's site; FLEURA does not collect card or address details.

Other Japanese payment labels you may encounter are 銀行振込 (bank transfer), コンビニ決済 (convenience-store payment) and 代金引換 (cash on delivery). Read any payment deadline and fees for the method actually offered. For prepaid methods, distinguish the date you place an order from the date payment is completed.

Check timing before you commit

Read the product's own stock and dispatch notices alongside the general delivery guide. An estimated dispatch date is not the same as an arrival date. If you will be away, confirm the receiving arrangements before paying rather than assuming the carrier can redirect a parcel later.

For returns or an initial defect, find the retailer's contact route, the time limit and the condition of the item it will accept. Keep the order confirmation and product model details. Opening a package, using an item and requesting a change of mind can be different cases under a store's return conditions.

About FLEURA & advertising

FLEURA is an independently edited product-comparison and buying guide for adults. We organise manufacturer specifications and retailer information, and identify the source of model-specific details. We are not a shop, manufacturer, delivery service or English-language customer-support desk for a retailer.

Some links to retailers are affiliate links. A qualifying purchase through those links may earn FLEURA a commission. Orders, payment, delivery and returns are handled by the retailer. Our product comparisons distinguish published specifications from hands-on testing; a product's presence on the site is not a claim that it suits every person.
